Born in Kansas and raised in small-town Iowa, I grew up playing in creeks and ponds, creating my own adventures on my grandparents' farm and making up imaginary worlds. Since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I would draw, mostly Disney characters or my pets or parents, until my hand hurt. My childhood passion for nature and art led me to Iowa State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with a minor in Design Studies in 2012.
Shortly after graduating, I moved to South Florida to escape the brutally cold, Iowa winters and worked as a landscape designer at EDSA, a large-scale planning office in Ft. Lauderdale. I then moved to South Beach and worked for Enea, a landscape architectural firm in Miami. In the fall of 2014, I packed my life into a few suitcases and transferred to Switzerland to work at the Enea headquarters as the coordinator between offices and as a landscape designer. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree at the Zurich University of the Arts . When I'm not studying or working as a freelancer in landscape architecture, I keep myself busy by continuing my German studies (definitiv nicht die einfachste Sprache der Welt!), hiking, running, reading, adding filters to Instagram pictures or doodling.
